The University of North Bengal was launched in 1962 by an act of the Legislature of West Bengal. The University of North Bengal Main associations and ranks is Affiliation of Indian Universities (AIU); Distance Education Council (DEC). The University Act was revised under West Bengal Act of XXV of 1981.University of North Bengal, through board of directors of Distance Education, offers prime post graduate and under graduate courses to educate at any location and age in the comfort of their home. It is highly suggested that students who like to join into a Distance Education to affirm if the University providing the course is accepted by the Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi. The University of North Bengal conducts various courses in distance learning programme.
