Aeronautical Engineering Officers Exam in Indian Air Force 2010

Indian Air Force Aeronautical Engineering Officers Exam is held for the career in Indian Air Force. For this exam, Mechanical and Electronic engineers are eligible. Aeronautical engineering is divided in 2 parts as: Mechanical and Electrical. The mechanical is for aircraft and its weapon system and electrical branch is for electronic networks of communications.

 

Eligibility

 

  1. Must be Indian
  2. Must be between 18 to 28 years of age
  3. Must be unmarried at commencement of the course
  4. Conditions are same for Male and Female

 

For Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics): Candidate should get 70% marks in GATE exam.

  1. Must have BE/ B tech (Electronics)/Telecommunication / Electrical / Electrical / Electrical Communication / Electronics Communication / Instrumentation / Computer Science and Engineering
  2. Candidate who have, Diploma in Electronics of Madras Institute of Technology, are eligible
  3. Candidate who have, B Tech in Radio Physics and Electronics/Optics and Opt Electronics/Optics and Opto Electronics.
  4. Candidate who have, MCA with Maths, Physics and Electronic at graduation level & M Sc Tech in Electronics and Radio Engineering.
  5. Candidate who have, M Sc Degree in Physics (with Electronics), Electronics computer Science, Computer Application.

 

For Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical): Candidate must have 70% marks in GATE exam.

  1. BE/B Tech in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Production/Industrial production
  2. Section A and B of associate membership examination of Institution of Engineering (India) with Mechanical/Aeronautical subjects by actual studies.
  3. Section A and B of associate membership examination of the Aeronautical society of India with Group I(Design and Production) or Group II(Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) subjects by actual studies.

 

Selection Process:

 

Selection is done on the basis of written exam. The shortlist is prepared on the basis of Psychological Test, Group Test and Interview at one of the Air Force Selection Boards, located at Dehradun, Mysore and Varanasi. Candidate must have to appear in Initial Screening Test called Engineering Knowledge Test.
