Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) was established on 8th May 2000 by the government of Uttar Pradesh.
It is located at Lucknow and provide technical education in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Pharmacy, and Applied Arts & Crafts.
The university is also approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
There are approximately 250 colleges affiliated to UPTU and this very fact makes it one of the largest universities in the country.

Candidates are the residents of UP (Either of the parent of candidate are Domicile of UP).
UPTUSEE ENTRANCE EXAM - Key Dates:
Commencement of Application Form: Mid of January, 2009.
Last Date of receiving application form: Mid of February, 2009.
Last date of submitting completed application form: Third week of February, 2009.
Date of UPTU SEE: Third week of April, 2009.
UPTUSEE ENTRANCE EXAM - Examination Details:
For B.H.M.C.T/ B.F.A.D. course: Aptitude test for General Awareness.
For MBA: Aptitude test for MBA
For MCA: aptitude Test for MCA
For B.Tech: Test will comprise of Physics , Chemistry, and Mathematics.
For B, Arch: Test comprising of Mathematics and Aptitude Test.
